"Our Den Leader"


Each week you’d bring into your home eight wild little boys.
You’d chase them off the furniture, away from your kids’ toys.

Then one by one, and bit by bit, the boys would settle in,
And gather ‘round the table so the meeting could begin.

You always seemed to have some kind of great adventure planned
Something to see and do and touch, for each boy’s eager hand.

They told you that "One hour a week", was all that it would take--
To help out as a Den Leader -- they meant that was your break!

Now the year is over and the boys have earned their ranks,
It’s time for you to get some rest, and for us to tell you, “Thanks”.
