"My Mentor"
(from one Eagle Scout to his Mentor)

 I'm proud to be an Eagle Scout, and stand up here today,
To say "Thank You" to everyone who helped me on my way.

I had help from many Scouts--and lots of Leaders, too.
But I want to take the time to give a special "Thanks" to you.

I would get discouraged at some points along the trail,
You'd smile at me and tell me, "To succeed, you first must fail."

You never let me give up, when, sometimes I wanted to--
So this Eagle Badge that I now wear, in part belongs to you.

It's hard for me to tell you, just how much you mean to me
So I'll show you by becomming the best Eagle I can be.
